Just a quick note because I’ve been overwhelmed with the beauty of the blossoming trees and flowers all around us in the past week or so in Minnesota….crab apple pinks and whites, lavender lilacs, and now lilies of the valley about to bloom.
As you think of those who mean a lot to you and also take a look at your own spring wardrobe, browse our color offerings in Strands of Hope kits. Lilac Grey showcases gentle purples, greens, grays and a bit of yellow. Lime Shimmer just feels like spring and the fresh green grass all around. And our pinks, light in Whisper Pink and deeper in Dusky Rose, are also favorites.
Add some color to someone’s life…..and some meaning to yours!

What a night we had!!! 57 women made Strands of Hope necklaces as part of an evening “spiritual spa” at a local church. Necklaces were made to give to others; necklaces were made to keep. Laughter and conversation flowed freely throughout the evening.
Even non-jewelry makers found the experience rewarding and fun ~ as one woman said, “I’ve never ever been a crafty person, and look at this necklace I made!” In fact, many loved the process and symbolism of Strands of Hope so much that they purchased additional kits and matching earrings at the end of the evening to do at home.
As members of the Strands of Hope team, it was great to meet a whole new group of women. We were impressed by their patience and we loved watching the impact of our mission in action.

Spring has come to Minnesota! It’s time to consider some spring colors like our ‘Lime Shimmer’ or ‘Lilac Grey.” We also have a new Candlelight Glow with a buttery pearl and soft yellow bead!

Hi,
I’m Joy, one of the founders of ‘Strands of Hope.’
In creating the Strands of Hope™ pendant we went through a number of iterations. We knew we wanted to capture the continuous or the infinite in our design; in this, we were guided by the ‘Mobius Strip.’ Additionally, in our culture, the heart seems a natural to symbolize caring and compassion; therefore, it informed our basic design.
What I didn’t realize was the symbolism that revealed itself to me when studying our final design. Take a moment to look at the graphic of the Strands of Hope pendant and note for yourself any symbolic elements that you see. I’d love to know what you find, so please share your thoughts with us on this blog.
One of the things I see is a cradled being at its center. Look again, and that ‘being’ is the symbol for infinity.
Next, do you see the larger heart supporting the smaller heart? The smaller heart is upside‐down, like a signal of distress when a flag is flown upside‐down. In this, I see the loving embrace of the larger heart reaching upwards to support the smaller heart.
Where does the larger heart begin and where does it end? As you trace the path, you will find the larger heart is continuous with the smaller heart. As in life, at any given time, you may be the one needing support while in the next moment, you may be the one giving support. To me, this is the essence of hope, the ability to give as I have received, in love and with compassion.
Our Strands of Hope™ pendant is deeply meaningful to me. Often as I wear one of our beautiful necklace designs I clasp the pendant in my hand, and breathe a thanksgiving for this necklace ‘made with love, worn with hope.’
