ABOUT STRANDS OF HOPE

We, the founders of Strands of Hope came together after experiencing major life crises. For us, it was the shared experience of breast cancer. Initially, we met monthly for mutual support and encouragement. During this time we transitioned from being ‘consequential strangers’ to beloved friends.

As time went on, new challenges appeared in our lives and in the lives of those we love. Each of us had a new awareness of a deep gratitude for all the love and support we received from friends, family and acquaintances. All four of us yearned for a way to give something back. From this yearning, the Strands of Hope mission was born, to make heart-to-heart connections through jewelry infused with compassion, love and hope. We envisioned reaching out to anyone struggling with a life challenge, as well as all those who give service to others through their concern and support.

So that others could also participate in this effort, we created Strands of Hope® necklace kits. Together we worked on a pendant design, changing and reworking it until it became our symbol — the endless flow of love and gratitude. We developed a necklace pattern and wanted to include the “random” bead representing the unpredictable that enters into everyone’s life.

It has taken us over two years to birth our company. We hope you can find a place for Strands of Hope in your life. Whether you are a recipient, a maker or a keeper we want to you feel the compassion, love and hope the Strands of Hope® necklace is meant to convey.
